My Journey to Stop Sex Trafficking: In Memory of My Sister, Joy

Not too long ago, I met a new friend, Wayne Meadows, in the Human Trafficking Modern Day Slavery Facebook Page. He'd posted to the group, thanking everyone for including him. All I said in my response was one word: Welcome. From that interaction, Wayne and I began a long conversation about his life growing up in Oregon. Among many things, he shared that his sister, Joy, had been trafficked back in the early 1980s. Wayne has made a commitment and is dedicating his mission work to support non-profit groups that are working to end this form of modern day slavery. This is Wayne's story and the work he's bringing into the world, through an app called The Better Way to Play. Thank you for supporting Wayne's mission.

Imagine speaking to your child one day and the very next day, they are missing. Seems impossible, but that is exactly what my parents had to endure with my younger sister, Joy, back in the early 1980s. Unfortunately, this happens every day all over the world in the sex trafficking trade. There was a happy ending for our family, but that is not always the case. In honor of my sister, I am passionately working to do my part to bring an end to sex trafficking. Here's my story:

I’ve discovered a fun and creative way to help combat this global human rights issue. It involves everybody’s favorite past-time, football. United Games is launching a revolutionary, first time ever, FREE INTERACTIVE LIVE SPORTS MOBILE APP, where people can interact with their favorite sports team and players while they play! It's a family-friendly way to play that elevates the values of good sportsmanship and wholesome fun.

Everyone loves to be a part of something great. This is a one of a kind app, and it will soon erupt across the world because of the global impact that sports have. Hundreds of "A" list athletes and Hollywood celebrities have already signed up to be a part of United Games, allowing you to join in their leagues and compete against them to show who's the best!

In my mission to help stop human trafficking, I'd like to partner with anti-trafficking organizations who are on the ground working to stop to capture predators and provide after-care and healing for survivors. A new United Games sports app, Fire Fan Sports App allows you and your friends to play live with your favorite football teams, while benefiting NGOs that are working to end modern day slavery. With this new and exciting app, any non-profit can do fundraising on a global and viral scale. My wish is to help as many anti-trafficking organizations as I can.

Here’s how you can download The Better Way to Play app and begin sharing with your friends and family. You can also call 1-800-809-3304 to learn more about The Better Way to Play app and why it's so exciting. Note: You must be 13 years of age or older, in order to download the app:

If you are interested in supporting a non-profit, this is a great fundraising opportunity. Learn more about how this works for the non-profit by watching this video:

If you suspect someone is being trafficked, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline, run 24/7 by the Polaris Project 888-373-7888. For information on how you help stop human trafficking, check out my friend, Dorina Leslie's site, Shine the Light Project. She's got lots of links about human trafficking and is passionate about helping everyday citizens take small steps to create global change to end modern slavery. Your Support Matters! Together, we can change the world, and through this free Fire Fan Sports App, we can help stop girls from being trafficked while having fun.

Thank you very much for your support. Please contact me with any questions you have about The Better Way to Play and how it can benefit your favorite non-profit, regardless of whether or not it's an anti-trafficking NGO....this app can benefit any non-profit!

We Will Prevail my Friends!
